I have helped many people to find resolution, relief and growth with difficulties such as trauma, anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, stress, loss, health concerns, and life transitions. My style is to be active, engaged and practical. Drawing upon years of training, experience and a long Mindfulness practice, I will work with you to understand your particular situation and develop an approach based on your needs.

I am certified in EMDR, a type of therapy originally developed for trauma, and have used this quite successfully for over 15 years. I am also certified in IFS (Internal Family Systems) a de-shaming therapy that believes that everyone has a core Self which is clear, confident and compassionate and that healing takes place through a relationship with Self and through the release of painful beliefs. In recent years I have been training in AEDP, a model that focuses on attachment, feelings and on healing in the therapy relationship. I draw upon these models and on earlier training in object relations and psychodynamic therapies as well as upon my own experiences in therapy and from life's lessons.

I love my work. It is always challenging, engaging and never dull. I am constantly learning from my clients and growing from the work we do together.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy can help with the management of difficult behaviors and feelings such as anger, fear and shame. But even more importantly psychotherapy can actually heal the source of that pain making management less necessary. . The walls that were there are gone, new doors are opened.
