If you didn't chose to have the issue that brought you to therapy, how could you be expected to chose not to have it? Sometimes you even know that you should be doing things differently and why and even how to do them differently, but you find yourself doing things the same, dysfunctional way.

I practice hypnosis, specifically Rapid Resolution Therapy (TM). I take the time to really understand how things have been, and then update your mind so that depression, anxiety, grief, and all of the ways those emotions manifest themselves are alleviated. You feel better, and you can effortlessly do things the way you were imagining doing them.

My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'

Human brains are glitchy. The conscious, evolved part of our mind can think all kinds of thoughts. We can think of things that happened in the past, think that they shouldn't have happened, think about what might happen in the future. No other animal does that.

When the evolved part thinks about things, the primitive part, which is the part that is connected to the nervous system, the part that ensures your survival, is eavesdropping. The primitive part doesn't understand past, future, probability, and sets your nervous system off to take care of the problem. But there's no problem to take care of, so we experience unpleasant feelings and thoughts.

The primitive part also makes connections between what is happening now and what it has stored. If the conscious mind doesn't know what connection the primitive mind made, then we don't know why we are reacting the way we are.

You don't have to know what is causing the disturbing feelings. You might be very aware of what it is, but just because the evolved mind gets it, doesn't mean the primitive mind does.

I get your mind all cleared up so that the two parts are working together and your reactions make sense to you!
