With the rising statistics of divorce and remarriage, there are many new challenges for "blended" families as they navigate through the rocky terrain of change. As a family therapist, my goal is to help each person in the system understand their reaction to the change, find their new way of being in the family while honoring the way things "used to be". I have a passion for helping individuals, couples and families find their strengths, internalize self-compassion, have empathy and appreciation for each other, gain a sense of peace and learn to have fun again. I approach my work using psycho-education, communication tools and mindfulness techniques. My mantra is, "Be with what is". I believe that everyone is an individual with unique needs. I encourage people to be in the here and now and learn ways to embrace life challenges as opportunities for growth. I specialize in stress reduction, relationship issues, blended families, step parenting, depression, anxiety, binge eating, grief and life transitions. I thoroughly enjoy leading groups and bringing others together who share similar life challenges such as step parenting, stress management & binge eating.
