It should never be hard to ask for help, however, that is the reality for people who are seeking help find themselves in. My philosophy throughout my therapeutic career has always been that no one is a diagnosis and not everyone fits in a certain box. We are all different with unique issues and needs. My place is to assist with helping those who do reach out and ask for help. I will be privileged and willing to assist you in that journey.

More Info About My Practice

I use EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy and have worked with those dealing with trauma past and present. I work with persons who are struggling with gender identity, and families struggling with understanding and accepting their children through difficult discussions. I have extensive experience with addiction issues as well. I have experience working with forensic issues, and I also have worked with grief and loss concerns. I use DBT and other therapeutic evidenced-based approaches. What I find, having experienced working for over 14 yrs with clients, is that people need what works for them and it's their journey. Working as a team in your therapeutic journey is what makes the difference. Teamwork.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

We often have no problem with getting our vehicles tuned up. I do not say that to be funny or minimize the therapeutic process. At times, the purpose of therapy is to get a mental and/or emotional tune up. On other occasions, there are serious issues a person faces in their life and they need assistance getting through it. My place in the process is to assist you with figuring that out, and supporting you and your life goals. Therapy is about you and your needs. You are not flawed or a diagnosis, you are a person, and emotional pain is real and very difficult to manage at times. The purpose of therapy is, in my opinion, to help you remove those road blocks in your way. Being stuck is uncomfortable, and there is no reason to have to stay stuck.
