You deserve to be happy and fulfilled in your life. My goal is to support you to make this a reality. Together, we look at the challenges you face and the choices you can make to change the present and future. I love to work with adults, families, and couples. Stress, anxiety, and depression often go hand in hand with job, school, and relationship struggles. I use many different approaches depending on the age of my clients. With younger children, I get creative with art and fun activities--sometimes my adult clients enjoy some of these, too! Establishing a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment is my ultimate goal to support you to find the answers I know you have within you.

More Info About My Practice
My approach is a gentle and positive one. We bring laughter into our sessions whenever possible. It has such a strong healing force. I am honored to gain your trust and to support your courage and vulnerability in seeking help. Clients tell me I'm easy to talk to and they feel deeply cared for. Teens like my straight talk and respectful manner. My previous career in education as a school and college counselor is helpful in understanding many of their academic and social issues. Younger children are very drawn to me and always have been perhaps because they sense how sincerely interested I am in them. My schedule allows for evening and weekend appointments, which is often helpful for kids.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I've experienced the loss of divorce, the joy of remarriage, and the complexity of the blended family--all of which help me relate to many of the problems faced by my clients. I'm very familiar with IEPs, 504 plans, and working with at-risk kids in school who can benefit from special services or may want to explore other academic options. I also have strong training in grief and addiction support. I have successfully worked with clients in recovery as well as those looking for treatment options. For those who are open, I encourage mindfulness practices.

Ages I Work With
Groups I Work With
In addition to seeing clients in private practice, I have worked extensively in an inpatient/outpatient treatment facility providing psychotherapy to individuals suffering from addiction to substances, alcohol and gambling. Many of these individuals have dual-diagnoses. As a California credentialed school counselor, I also have worked in the K-12 school setting, supporting students with academic or behavioral issues that are often related to trauma or peer or family pressures. I am familiar with working with school psychologists and staff about implementation of 504 plans and IEPs.
