I believe each individual coming to therapy is unique in his or her strenghts, needs and abilities. Life challenges us with stresses and problems throughout our life cycle. The way we respond to those challenges often is dependent on who we are and how we perceive our situation. I believe that looking at our experiences in our family of origin is crucial in coming to understand why we get stuck in some patterns in life. I help my clients unfold these patterns and find their strenghts and abilties by empowering them and supporting them to get through difficult times in their life.
I am very passionate about my work and have a very empathetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, and respectful approach in working with my clients.
My mission is to help my clients with personal growth and continue living or achieving a happier and more successful life. I treat individuals with depression, loss, grief, anxiety, relationship issues and low self esteem. I also help couples create more satisfying relationships by improving their communication skills, reducing conflict, examining underlying issues and facilitating deeper empathy, compassion and understanding for one another. In addition a portion of my practice is devoted to working with teens and their families through different challenges, as well as coaching parents in communicating more effectively with their teens.
I am devoted to helping my clients feel confident, passionate, and powerful in order to achieve their goals and increase thier ability to lead a more mindful, compassionate and fulfilled life.

More Info About My Practice
My approach to therapy emphasizes a collaboration of psychodynamic psychotherapy, humanistic, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Teenagers and their families. Teenagers face a host of pressures, from the changes of puberty to questions about who they are and where they fit in. The natural transition from child to adult can also bring parental conflict as teens start to assert their independence. With all this drama it is not easy to differentiate between depression and normal teenage moodiness. Making things even more complicated, teens with depression do not necessarily appear sad, nor do they always withdraw from others. If you have an adolescent in your life, it is important to learn what teen depression looks like and what to do if you spot the warning signs.
My Therapy Focus
On helping my clients to develop mindful awareness, in order to have more clarity and consciousness, and to be more balanced, accepting and connected. In addition I invite my clients to increase their capacity for self-compassion and compassion for others.
