---About Me---

I graduated from the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy with a diploma after three years of intensive theoretical and clinical training in intersubjective, relational, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. I am a clinical member, and previous executive board member, of the Ontario Society for Psychotherapists. I am also a member of the American Psychological Association's division of psychotherapy, and the International Association for Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.

I hold an Honours bachelor of science degree in sociology and psychology from the University of Toronto. I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a master of science in psychology. I am also a published researcher and writer and a professional musician. I have many years of experience as a college and university instructor and consultant.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have many years of experience assisting clients working through anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, grief and trauma.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

People seek psychotherapy for many reasons. Some need help with specific problems, such as anxiety and depression, while others hope to boost energy, vitality, and quality of life. Some struggle to face painful pasts or personal trauma, while others feel tapped in patterns that inhibit their fulfillment and authentic connection with others.

Therapy can be a rewarding experience that offers a nonjudgmental, safe, private space to talk through things. This allows clients to experience better relationships, release from painful physical and emotional symptoms, greater empowerment and control, a deeper understanding of their feelings, and behaviours, and an improved sense of well-being.
