Do you feel overwhelmed? Do you feel stressed out? Misunderstood? Do you feel like you are trying the hardest you can to do the best you can and things still aren't working?
You are doing the best you can. And, you can do better.
Sometimes we all need a little help. It's my job to help you get out of your way.
Maybe you want your relationships to not feel like so much work. Maybe you want life to not feel like so much work. Maybe you want people to understand you better. Maybe you want to find more meaning in life, to feel more connected to others and more joyful.
I'm a mindfulness based psychotherapist in the heart of Fremont. Together we will explore your thoughts, your feelings, and the life experiences that have led you to this moment of suffering. Pain is a normal part of human existence; suffering is something we create. I help people to create less suffering in their lives.

More Info About My Practice
I offer a free half hour consultation where we can meet face to face and explore the potential of working together.
Once we decide to begin working together, my standard fee is $130 for a 50-55 minute session payable by cash, check, or debit/credit/HSA card. At this time I have a few sliding scale spots which start at $90 per session. I accept LifeWise, Premera, and First Choice plans. I am also happy to provide invoices for you to use for Out Of Network billing.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I am particularly well suited to work with individuals who are dealing with high levels of stress, anxiety and overwhelm. People who feel like they are trying the hardest they can and are still not able to deal with life. People who are really critical of themselves or who have low self esteem. I utilize my training in Mindful Self-Compassion to teach people how to more effectively relate to themselves, so they can be successful in the world with a greater sense of ease.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
I think the most important factor in choosing a therapist should be how you feel with them and if you believe they can help you. You should feel that your therapist respects you and has compassion for your struggles, without judgement. It is difficult to articulate, but you should feel like your therapist "gets you"; that they can understand your experience. As therapists we have many tools and techniques and different styles, but research shows over and over that the relationship is what makes therapy work.
Theoretical Influences that Guide My Work
The major theoretical influences that guide my work are Buddhism, Mindfulness, Cognitive Therapies, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Family Systems theory. What this means is that I focus on what is happening in the here and now, I focus on what works for you, and I understand that where we come from greatly influences where we are, but that we have some choice in where we go.
