Sometimes we go through life by inertia, without a clear purpose or simply feeling stuck. Sometimes we don't understand the way we feel, think, or behave, or why we can't deal with life as others do. We might realize there are parts of ourselves we can't recognize, parts we dislike or even hate. Sometimes we feel trapped by impossible expectations that keep us feeling we will never be good enough. We may believe that if people really knew who we are, they will realize we are impostors unworthy of being loved.
I believe these are some of the feelings and experiences that define our humanity, not conditions to pathologize. They tend to occur when we learn, consciously or not, to keep parts of ourselves hidden in the dark. As a therapist, I see myself as a companion in your journey to gain awareness, understanding, acceptance, and love for the feelings and experiences that made you who you are. I don't think the goal of therapy is to fix but to grow.
Healing, like life, is a journey with no shortcuts. It happens in the context of the relationship we will develop, and relationships take time. This is a journey to recognize and love all parts of yourself. A journey you don't need to take alone.

More Info About My Practice
I work with individuals, couples, and groups, including a wide range of age groups, sexual identity and orientation, lifestyles and life stages.
Most of the people I work with have had a number of experiences during childhood that impacted the way they feel about themselves, the way they relate to others, and the way they think about relationships. These early experiences can be manifested in many ways, including anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, relationship and intimacy problems, loneliness, feelings of worthlessness, etc.
I believe healing requires addressing the issues underlying these symptoms with kindness, curiosity, and compassion.
My Role as a Therapist
I may offer a different perspective, raise questions that have not been asked, and help you develop awareness and kindness. I cannot tell you what you should do, and will not offer quick tips or skills from a manual. I strongly believe the answers you seek, you already carry within.
