Every person is unique. People are more than a diagnosis. Developing a comprehensive understanding helps lead to the best individualized treatment. I'm an adult and child psychiatrist, and I am also board-certified in holistic and integrative medicine. I am on faculty at NYU School of Medicine. I help manage challenges such as anxiety, mood problems, attention difficulties, including child and adult ADHD, OCD, panic, social anxiety, PTSD, and depression. When necessary, I use medications, with the lowest dose necessary.
I use several specialized therapeutic techniques, depending on your situation and goals. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps clarify the relationship between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I do exposure therapy to treat fears (phobias) and obsessive-compulsive disorder. With children and teens, I use parent management therapy, which is a form of behavioral therapy that can help families get along better. I incorporate diet, exercise, lifestyle, and mindfulness recommendations. My approach involves a comprehensive evaluation followed by psychotherapy, and psychopharmacology (medications) if necessary. I do therapy in every session.
