The vehicle of growth and healing is relationship. My approach is founded upon building an intimate relationship that values the diversity of human experience. Together, we can explore your conscious and unconscious experiences in order to deeply understand and actively engage what brings you to therapy.
Many times therapy starts by focusing on the acute issues that bring people to therapy. Usually these acute issues are the tip of a much larger iceberg. After gaining some alleviation from the initial issues that bring people to therapy, a more in-depth therapy can be pursued in order to promote long lasting change.
I specialize in working with trauma, death, and abuse survivors. Trauma can result from both acute experiences such as a car crash, or experiences that are endured for long periods of time such as, and not limited to, being in an abusive relationship, being abandoned, or being sexually abused for a period of time. Usually an attempt to survive and cope with difficulties related to trauma, result in symptoms or behaviors such as depression, anxiety, paranoia, obsessiveness, a pervasive sense of distrust in others, or addictive behavior.
I am deeply engaged with my clients and seek regular consultation and support in order to provide meaningful intervention. Approaching your issues in a depth therapy I provide can be challenging, but ultimately more rewarding and rich.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I have been working with a range of issues that bring people to therapy for over four years. My training originated in a residential treatment center working with severe mental illness and addiction. Since then I have focused my practice on depth psychotherapy, stemming from the practices of relational psychoanalysis. Modern relational psychoanalysis is a synthesis of therapeutic practices which focuses on how relationship impacts development, healing, and growth.
I believe therapy is about "dreaming-up" experience regardless of the particular issue that brings someone to therapy. This means I believe the therapeutic challenge is for the client and therapist to create a relationship in which experience can openly and honestly be felt and explored. There is a rawness to the type of therapy I offer, but I believe it is ultimately more rewarding and beneficial to be witnessed and know oneself very personally through an active practice of engaging one's true emotional experience.
I am actively challenging myself as a clinician, friend, lover, client in therapy, and other venues of my life to build my capacity to dream-up or feel the diversity of human experiences of the human condition.
