"Effective therapy begins with the acceptance of the therapist into the client's quality world." - William Glasser.
Welcome! I commend you for considering this courageous step toward change, growth and healing. I am honored that you would consider inviting me along as your companion on this most rewarding journey. My principal focus is counseling individuals, couples and families who are struggling with a variety of life's challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, separation and divorce along with many other challenges that we encounter on our journey through life.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, operating from a wellness model while integrating a systemic perspective into my work. This means that, together, we will explore the impact of family, work, community and social environments and how these systems may serve as obstacles or support for change, growth and healing. Goals for you, in therapy, will be developed collaboratively, as, the overall objective is the successful resolution of issues deemed most important through this collaborative process.
Finally, yet, no less importantly, my goal is to provide you with a warm, supportive, safe, accepting and challenging environment so that you can accomplish the change, growth and healing that you desire.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I view therapy as an amazing growth and healing opportunity. In my perception, we all experience life events involving loss, trauma and unmet needs during our lifetime. We, therefore, periodically, experience the painful, debilitating, sometimes, paralyzing effects of these life events throughout our lives. Therapy, is, in my opinion, a comforting, reassuring option for those of us who wish to heal and "move through" those painful times. I, having experienced my own personal therapeutic healing and growth process, can attest to the value of choosing therapy to, proactively, address the issues that seem to, repeatedly, "hold us back" or keep us "stuck". Therefore, having, personally, experienced the roles of both client and therapist, I have come to view the client/therapist relationship as a "collaborative journey". As your therapist, I choose to walk beside you as your companion on this incredible journey, as opposed to walking behind you to "prod you along", or walking in front of you to "lead you", or "pull you" to your desired destination. The journey is all about you!
