Do you feel stuck in repetitive patterns in your relationship? Do you keep having the same arguments over and over and end up feeling like you don't know how to get out of them? We easily see what our partner is doing that hurts us, but often have a hard time seeing how we perpetuate these patterns. Each partner becoming clear on what their part is can be difficult, but is crucial to changing these patterns. I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist since 1993 and have the training and experience to help you recognize and make the changes you so very much want. My approach is a caring and focused one which is effective both with couples and individuals. When you are looking for a therapist you've usually been having problems for a long time, maybe even years. I am aware that you need guidance and results. I feel I am highly qualified and provide both to my clients.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have extensive training and experience in couples therapy, as I have always worked with couples as well as families. I have also worked with clients experiencing the effects of trauma for over two decades.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

I believe therapy can help in very specific ways with couples issues. Just the fact that you are both talking to third person and not just arguing with each other helps you see things differently. When a therapist is specifically trained to look for patterns and focus on the dynamics between you change is truly possible. A couples therapist's job is always to help each person gain clarity in the changes they need to make in order to change the situation.
Individual therapy is really my helping you gain the tools and clarity you need so that you can make the changes you are truly ready to make in your life. It is not about my telling you what to do but about my helping you see what it is you are ready and willing to do to change things in your life and then helping you gain the tools that make those changes possible.
