More Info About My Practice

I believe in providing support between your sessions. To accomplish this, I use a secure online client portal which gives you 24-hour access to self-help information and an online journal. I will provide you feedback on your journal entries within a few hours. Ongoing support is so important to your healing.

I provide convenient evening and weekend appointments for individuals and couples.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

You have many options when it comes to choosing a therapist /counselor in our area. The most important factor is that you "feel" safe and supported. The key to a beneficial helping relationship is the connection between you and your provider. You must feel understood and valued. This is my guiding principle for my practice. Before scheduling an appointment, ask the provider if they will do a complimentary consult with you. This is important to determine if there is a good fit between what the provider is offering and your needs. During this call, you will also get sense of their personality and helping approach.

Unfortunately, most people choose who their insurance dictates who they must see. This can be a mistake. You want to find someone whom you feel comfortable working with. Another tip, ask about the provider's specializations and the types of problems they normally help with. You should also ask about the provider's means of measuring progress and barriers during your work together.
