My passion for being a therapist has been refined by integrating my traditional clinical training and experience as a psychodynamic psychotherapist with my personal work and training with the Peruvian medicine people over the past ten years. These medicine people have a deep understanding of what it means to be human, feel rooted, live with contentment, and be focused on "being" not "wanting." The knowledge and skills of the Medicine People of Peru is an important learning experience for me personally and professionally. Through their experiential teaching, complimentary ways of recognizing and working with people have emerged unlocking how life experience is stored not only in our intellect but also in our body. Accessing the memories and experiences stored in the body can add another dimension of self-knowledge for people to seeking a more open and trusting relationship with themselves and others.

More Info About My Practice

My professional fees can vary depending upon individual circumstances. I conduct 60 minute individual psychotherapy sessions on a variable fee arrangement based on ability to pay and health insurance benefits. If you have health insurance coverage that I accept, co-pay allowances may significantly reduce the out of pocket expense. Psychotherapy services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions: 1. Do I have mental health insurance benefits? 2. What is my deductible and has it been met? 3. How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover? 4. What is the coverage amount per therapy session? 5. Is approval required from my primary care physician? Cash, check, and major credit cards are accepted for payment.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have over thirty years experience working with people to address the issues that impair or impede their success in developing well-functioning personal and professional relationships. Successful relationship skills are essential for a satisfying marriage, lasting friendships, and workplace success. Over the decades of my work, my appreciation has steadily grown for how central the relationship we craft with ourselves is the key factor in coping with and adapting to the multiple demands of living.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy can be emotional support, problem solving assistance, relationship skill development, and character development. It can provide the outside perspective and guidance needed to cope with challenges in daily living. Life can be complicated. Emotions can create confusion. Depression, anxiety, fear, and anger can present impediments to daily living that are difficult to understand and manage. Psychotherapy can be a valuable asset to managing problems in living effectively. It can provide a fresh perspective or new direction that has been unavailable when coping alone.
