Billing and Insurance

I don't currently accept insurance, but I can provide documentation if clients wish to submit to an insurance company for "out of network" benefit coverage

Fees: My fee is $120/session. Because I am a pre-licensed therapist I am able to charge a lower fee than licensed clinicians. I also offer the option of a sliding-scale discount based on income. Please contact me for more information.

More Info About My Practice

I help creative people (writers, artists, and musicians) overcome anxiety and trauma. I have completed Basic Training for EMDR therapy, which can alleviate distress from current or past traumas. As a former hospice counselor, I also have extensive experience with issues of grief and loss. I host two creativity groups: Coffee & Creativity and Write in the City twice a month, as well as a 12-week Artist's Way workshop. Please feel free to contact me for more information.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Some people say: "Why do I need to see a therapist when I can talk to a friend instead?" It's a good question. The difference between a therapist and a friend is the therapist is objective and impartial. A therapist won't judge you for your thoughts, beliefs, or actions. You don't need to worry if the therapist will tell other people what you talked about because the discussions are kept confidential. It's a special type of relationship focused solely on your health and well-being.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

The most important aspect of any counseling relationship is the rapport between client and therapist. The best way to establish that is to have a conversation first. I encourage you to schedule a free 10-minute phone consultation with me to see if we would be a good fit: https://rachelmoore.acuityscheduling.com/
