My Approach to Helping

Having always been naturally drawn to helpers, my psychotherapy practice organically evolved to focus on helping helpers lead full, happy and meaningful lives.

I care deeply about my clients and it is meaningful to witness and support people as they take steps to dramatically change their lives for the better.

As a relational psychotherapist I will work with you to build a strong relationship in which we can work together as a team to uncover and dissolve obstacles that stand in your way of happiness.

I work with individual adults and couples, and have since 2006 when I started training.

It can be hard for helpers to ask for help.

Many of us learned at a young age to attend to the needs of others first, and we are quite adept at caretaking. When it comes to our own needs, though, it is often more challenging to find them, keep them in focus, and attend to them with the same care and compassion that we extend to others.

In our work together I will help you practice applying your innate skills and abilities to your own self care.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

As a helper myself, working with helpers provides me with daily inspiration to continue to create the boundaries and balance in my own life that I work to support and encourage for others. I am inspired by my clients.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

I have worked with people for a single session to weekly treatment over the course of more than five years. I believe there is room for success in short and long term treatment. I have witnessed greater success with long term treatment. With that said, the length of treatment is always up to you.

In terms of frequency, I typically work with clients once or twice per week. The regularity is a key piece of what allows for change. I find that meeting more than once a week is often helpful for clients going through a particularly hard time.
