I have always been interested in working with children and believe the manner in which they progress through each stage of development has significant implications for later cognitive, social, and emotional development. I believe that each child carries with him/her a set of stable biological determinants that predisposes them physiologically and emotionally to social stimuli, thus, facilitating social interactions and emotional expression. In addition, I believe that a child's ability to perceive and understand other people's emotions has a tremendous impact on his/her psychological functioning as it helps shape and guide behavior, thereby enabling the child to develop a sense of empathy and emotional competency.
