There are times when life feels really tough. Maybe you keep finding yourself fighting with your partner, or your anxiety is overwhelming your life, or you've lost track of who you wanted to be. These things are challenging and the way through can often be hard to find.
I can help.
I will help you better understand what keeps you restricted in your life. I will help you explore the emotional patterns you learned from your family and how they currently impact you, and how they play out in your present relationships. As your sense of understanding increases, so will your capacity grow for healthier relationships and you will see new possibilities emerge in your life.
I particularly help people struggling with anxiety and depression, understanding the turmoil of midlife crisis, and find relief from body image issues and a low sense of self worth.
My emphasis is on attachment and psychodynamic theories (to understand the family forces that shaped you) and I weave in experiential, mindfulness and sand tray work, as it feels right to you. With couples, I use Emotionally-Focused Therapy to help rework the way you and your partner relate so that you can regain the connection and intimacy you want.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
I believe the purpose of psychotherapy is to help people fully understand themselves so that they feel more at ease in themselves and have greater capacity for happiness and connection with others.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love the possibility and meaningfulness of this work. Every week I see courage, despair, and great honesty. It's raw and intense but it's the real stuff of life. It's an honor to be a part of people's process of struggle and growth.
