I listen closely to my clients to support them in navigating life's challenges, including loss, relationship challenges, depression and anxiety, and in living more joyfully, authentically, and from the heart. Within each of us, there is a core self that is wired for healing and growth, and that remains intact, throughout whatever trauma a person may experience. With a presence that is warm, open and acutely attuned to you, I work to help my clients connect with these inner strivings to find clarity, and experience peaceful states and exciting transformation.

I strive for our work to make an impact from the beginning. Clients often tell me that therapy feels different this time, deeper. I consider this work very collaborative and welcome hearing what is working and what is not.

I have a passion for couples' work, and focusing on how to build or rebuild emotional and sexual intimacy. My views on couples and the myriad of ways that relationships can look and work well are very open, and I welcome warmly working with LGBT couples and polyamorous couples.

In addition to extensive training in AEDP -- a form of therapy that is at once experiential, somatically aware, attachment based, and interpersonal -- I am trained in couples therapy (PACT, Hakomi), grief counseling and family therapy.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

At it's simplest, psychotherapy can be a safe place to explore, in the presence of a compassionate and skilled therapist, what is affecting you most deeply. Psychotherapy can also be a way to create transformative experiences that lead clients to feel stronger, more sure of what they want, more connected to the people and the things that matter most to them, and feeling "more alive." Therapy can help a client to think through and find solutions for immediate problems or conflicts; or, it can help clients come to have a deeper appreciation for who they are and the many examples of resiliency they exhibited throughout their lives; and embody a sense of hopefulness and excitement in their lives.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

It is important to at least in the beginning, until a solid therapeutic relationship has been established and some good work has been done, to attend weekly. Depending on my schedule, I would be open to consider seeing a client on a bi-weekly basis. Therapy could be short-term, or long-term, depending on how far and how deep you would like to go. I respect all choices, based on the understanding that people have a number of competing priorities at any given time.
