My approach to healing is first and foremost a nonjudgmental and collaborative one. I believe that each one of us is a natural reservoir of courage, strength, and wisdom. Especially during periods marked by stress, loss, and/or increasingly tenuous external conditions that are beyond our control, it is often necessary to have someone to assist you in resuming the process of uncovering and accessing strengths. I believe this to be my key role as a therapist: assisting the client in accessing the unique gifts that he/she has to offer the world and enabling him or her to become more content, peaceful, and fulfilled. Of course, these goals are always considered secondary to immediate symptom relief in cases where something very troubling has bubbled to the surface. In such situations, mood difficulties, anxiety, addictions, relationship struggles and so on will be addressed and stabilized before moving toward deeper issues.

More Info About My Practice
One of the best indicators of positive outcomes in therapy has long been identified as the therapeutic relationship itself. As such, the match between a client and his/her therapist is one of the most important aspects to consider when making the decision to begin or continue psychotherapy. I encourage you to take your time in this phase of the decision-making process... ask questions and do your research about people's training and approach to healing, and above all, always trust your instincts. Whatever your path, I wish you peace, health and wellness.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
Understanding the role of suffering in human development begins to dissipate the shame one feels when contacting a psychotherapist. Our societal conditioning does not make clear the necessity of human suffering; rather, many of the symptoms one begins to feel at various points across the lifespan are repressed, suppressed, stigmatized and/or used to define a person's identity. This merely serves to keep one "stuck" in a cycle of self-limiting beliefs & thwarted impulses. If you are reading this, know that no matter how "broken" you feel~ how ashamed, alone, marginalized, unseen and/or misunderstood~ know that you are ALREADY WHOLE. Remember that having made it this far is a testament of your AMAZING RESILIENCY. Understand that you are wise, talented, inherently creative, powerful & beautifully vulnerable. In modern society, these capacities remain untapped potential in so many people; yet they merely need assistance to be awakened! This is why you may not believe any of these qualities to be true about yourself but can easily see them in other people. All it takes is a skilled guide to the inner world-- someone who has been to the depths themselves and is therefore capable of SEEING CLEARLY the LIGHT INSIDE OF YOU. Once your true nature is mirrored/reflected back in a genuine way, the innate healing process begins to unfold and one's brilliance and unique purpose on this planet begin to reveal themselves. This is one of my very special GIFTS and why I love my work!
