My Approach to Helping

People considering therapy sometimes worry if the therapist will be supportive, open to what they're saying, or right for their needs. I offer an initial 30-minute consultation so we can explore whether I'm the right fit for you. We'll get to know one another and see if we're a good match. Even better, it won't cost you anything!

At times I am active and questioning to help you explore the behaviors that stop you from achieving your goals. In other cases I am quiet, working to assimilate information to devise a better picture of our goals for our work together. Either way, our relationship is collaborative in nature, and I always have your best interests at heart.

More Info About My Practice

Some common topics of discussion in marriage therapy include decreased intimacy, unresolved conflict, infidelity, communication difficulties, power struggles, incompatibility, and contemplating divorce. Family therapy can address issues such as adoption, foster care, family conflict, or children's performance in school. Individuals frequently seek help with anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, loss, and spiritual concerns.

I inquire about you in the context of your environment, working to understand your concerns and needs. I want to be human, which to me means being understanding, open, and emotionally available as we work together to understand the human experience.

My fee is $135/session. I currently have sliding-scale slots open.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

We all have a past, a present, and a future. Our past consists of a life before you met your partner. The present is what is going on in your relationship today. Finally, the future is what you imagine your relationship with your partner to be years down the road. The therapist explores each of these segments because they serve as a compass to help guide us to the kind of life we wish to live. In a spirit of collaboration, armed with the knowledge of the past and present, the client and couple work together to push aside the debris to understand why we react in certain situations and how best to manage ourselves when those situations arise. The goal being to reclaim your married life.
