I like to meet my clients where they're at. Personal experiences matter much more than diagnoses/labels, and by getting to know you and understanding YOUR perspective on the things that bother you matter most. We're often very hard on ourselves for having problems and not just being able to 'handle things', and I help hold a space of compassion to ease the stress of this inner critic so change can happen. I am always honored to be a part of the work my clients do, their growth, and development of rarely-taught skills.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

One of my special interests is helping clients through divorce recovery. Divorce is very emotionally complex and has impacts on trust, self-esteem, definitions of love, healthy relationships, and more. If you're coping with the sense of betrayal, grief, guilt, or shame, I'd like to help. While sometimes painful and lonely, this is a special opportunity to forgive, reinvent yourself, and create healthier ways of relating.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Seeking therapy can be scary and vulnerable! It can take multiple attempts to find the 'right fit' with a therapist to share with, be challenged by, and grow from. It is OK to try talking with different therapists before committing. Therapy is not always comfortable, but the rewards are often greater than you ever imagine. Even taking the first step to pursue therapy is giving yourself the message, "I'm worth it" and can start the healing process.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Through the challenges I've faced in my own life, I've learned each person's path of healing may be as unique as our experiences of pain. Even when surrounded by friends and family, we can sometimes feel alone or misunderstood. I keep my focus on YOUR personal experience without trying to fit you into a single theory or diagnosis. My own challenges keep me humble and have taught me to appreciate the journey of life. Even when it's painful, these opportunities can help us grow. I've learned to see new possibilities and hold hope for your freedom from suffering even when it feels like nothing will change. I've learned the importance of forgiveness for my own sake, and how to hold compassion for both myself and others. I am thankful for the struggles I've faced and for the stronger and wiser person they've helped me to become.
