Coming from the social work tradition, my goal as a therapist is to uncover and build upon the inner strengths of the clients I work with. Suffering arises when the patterns of behavior and thought that once helped us survive are now keeping us from being the people that we envision ourselves to be. Therapy helps to bring these patterns to consciousness, and change our relationship to ourselves so our true light may be allowed to shine.
I specialize in working with people who have new and chronic health concerns, such as stroke, pain, neurological disorders, cancer, HIV/AIDS, brain injury and mild to moderate dementia. Additionally, I have much experience in helping people adjust to new disabilities, such as limb loss, paraplegia, and/or loss of extremity function. I am well skilled in working with clients who are dealing with depression, anxiety, anger, relationship difficulty, and those who have survived all types of trauma, including sexual, physical, war time, and medical.
I have special interest in working with individuals and couples who identify with the gay, lesbian, bisexual, questioning, transgender and non-conforming gender communities. I am a sex and kink positive practitioner.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
What I love most about about being a therapist is the relationships I am able to form with my clients. I see good therapy as a symbiotic experience, a journey that is shared and is client-driven. Ideally, it is an experience where both client and therapist have the good fortune to learn and grow from the relationship itself. Lastly, it is a pleasure and honor to watch a person heal, grow, and find space where they can love and accept themselves as they are.
