Finding it difficult to get the most out of life? Feeling stretched too thin? Maybe you struggle with finding your life purpose and feeling confident in which direction to turn. Your very core is affected by your thoughts and emotions. You may realize you are getting headaches more regularly or that you have a tightness in your shoulders that doesn't ever seem to fully go away. This happens when your negative emotions get stuck in your body. It affects everything. Not only are your thoughts about yourself or the world around you negative, but your whole body starts reacting poorly regardless of how hard you may be trying to keep it healthy. When this happens, you are solely working from a conscious level.
Your subconscious beliefs are working either for you or against you, but the truth is that you are not controlling your life because your subconscious mind supersedes all conscious control. So when you are working from only a conscious level, it can be nearly impossible to clear out your concerns/problems. Your subconscious may still be sabotaging you considering it makes up 95% of your daily interactions, thoughts and emotions. I incorporate Energy Psychology into my practice to be able to incorporate these the mind-body practices. Energy Psychology has been used for many , many years going back to the acupuncturists of Chinese Medicine. I work to break up and release the stuck energy (essentially as an acupuncturist would), but without needles.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as your therapist is to provide a safe and trusting environment for you to feel comfortable and confident in sharing yourself. Making the first phone call and showing up for the first appointment can be a challenging task. You are not alone if this is you right now. You will be welcomed and cherished in my office. I will be your support, your guide and your biggest cheerleader to provide you with direction and stability for life. The time spent in session will be driven by you, your thoughts, your emotions and what you feel is top priority for handling in life. I will be here to support you, yet challenge you to stretch to your potential.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

So often counseling holds a stigma, or at least some tend to think that way. Sometimes people feel as if you must have something wrong with you in order to go. "You must be weak. You must be messed up." Sound familiar? Ever tell yourself the same thing, meanwhile thinking you should be able to handle all that life throws your way on your own? I'm hear to say it is quite the opposite. There are few that just love the idea of coming to counseling and want to run and tell everyone they know, but that's not often. That's just not reality. What I do know, is that people have such growth throughout our time in sessions and start recommending it to their friends. Often they start saying things they never expected to say (in a good way) and start thinking about things differently knowing they might have never started down their journey had they not come to counseling. Life is overwhelming. Sometimes we need some unbiased support. I'm hear to say it takes strength and courage to begin counseling and if you are even considering going right now, you are headed in the right direction.
