A critical element to good therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship in which there is mutual respect. I offer a safe, confidential space in which to learn more about yourself and to develop insights that will empower you to change things in your life, only should you choose to. I am nonjudgmental and compassionate clinician, extremely dedicated to this work. In addition to my practice in NYC, I am an instructor at both UPENN and NYU.

My extensive postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, and my doctorate in clinical social work from the University of Pennsylvania have given me the tools to help us collaboratively determine the most appropriate clinical treatment for you. Not everyone is sure that therapy is for them. I offer consultations to help you decide whether it is the right approach for you. I also provide referrals, if we decide another clinician is needed due to either scheduling conflicts or a different approach is needed.

More Info About My Practice

For your convenience you can book an appointment on line through a link which be found on this site under my practice details at the bottom of the page. Please click on consultation and then scroll down to see my current open appointment times.

I am an Aetna provider and out-of-network provider for other insurances. I do submit out of network claims on your behalf and depending on their plan, many people receive a significant amount back. If you have any questions about this, call your insurance company and ask what your out of network benefits are. My fee is $175. For financial necessity, I do offer a sliding scale, especially during the day.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Meet for a consultation, and if you are unsure, we can meet for a couple of sessions to see if therapy is the right fit for you. I provide referrals and other types of information that might be helpful if you decide not to pursue therapy. My advice is to give it a try.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

When looking for a therapist, it's good to ask about their professional training as well as their style of therapy to make sure that it is a right fit for your needs. A therapist should explain in detail their approach so you can make an informed choice. Most importantly, when you meet with a therapist, you need to feel comfortable with that person, if you do not, meet with someone else.
