|Professions: Mental Health Counselor, Psychotherapist|
I'm a licensed professional.
LPCC - 1246
I don't currently accept insurance, but I can provide documentation if clients wish to submit to an insurance company for "out of network" benefit coverage
Although I offer individual therapy, I acknowledge that life satisfaction is rooted not only in our personal characteristics and past experiences, but in the nature and quality of our current relationships. The extent to which we feel connected to and understood by our family and loved ones can impact our suffering as much as or more than any painful experience endured in the past. For this reason, when clinically indicated, I will advocate for occasional involvement of family members in sessions, particularly in work with adolescents and children. In situations where I believe an individual will benefit from family therapy, I will refer to a family therapist as an alternative or as an adjunct to individual therapy.
My practice of involving family and friends is based not only on personal clinical experience, but also but rooted in the profession's current best-approach practices.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Not sure if just "talking about it" it is right for you?
You should know that there are many different kinds of therapy, and options to simple "talk therapy." Just as you have a choice in the particular medical treatment you receive or the doctor you see, you also have a choice in the type of therapy you receive, and the therapist who provides it. A single approach does not adequately address any problem, just as a single medicine or procedure cannot cure every ailment.
You have options! I provide what you might understand as talk therapy, but I also provide alternatives to the traditional approach. For instance, Parent Child Interaction Therapy, a conjoint therapy for children 2-7 and their parents, is an approach based on practicing particular skills in session instead of only talking about problems.
I am here to help you explore and choose the kind of therapy for you.
I will listen to what you have to say, and together we will explore your options.
