The trusting, accepting relationship I develop with you as my client is the most important part of our work together. You may count on me to do my best to listen carefully, offer empathy and support, and to use my clinical expertise to help you face difficult situations and solve problems. My role is also to help you identify the resources and tools you already possess, and to support and encourage their use. I strive to honor and respect each client's dignity and his/her strengths.

I am certified in the use of EMDR as an evidence-based means of treating trauma. This has proven to be very effective with many of my clients.

Regarding work with couples, I am also trained in emotionally focused therapy and the Gottman method.

I am trained in sand tray therapy and Theraplay with children.

I love my work and value your trust in me.

More Info About My Practice

I accept cash, credit and debit cards. If you will seek reimbursement from insurance, I offer a statement you may submit to your insurance company. Be sure to contact your insurance company and verify coverage. I am out of network with most insurances.

I sometimes work with individuals on a sliding fee scale who have limited incomes. Please ask me about payment before our first visit.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

For individuals that are uncertain whether to begin therapy I offer this advice: Many people come to therapy the first time with some anxiety. It might feel difficult to meet someone with whom you hope to share thoughts and feelings that are causing distress. However, I see clients relax and become more at ease as they realize I am not here to judge or criticize you, but to offer kind support, encouragement and professional advice -- whatever the problem.

The work we do together and the environment in which we do it has the highest degree of confidentiality and my office is a comfortable, safe space. I will answer your questions and explain confidentiality on our first visit.

If you're wondering whether I'm the right therapist for you, please give me a call at no charge and I'll be happy to answer any questions you have. You may be assured your call is confidential and requires no commitment.
