Congratulations on your interest in beginning (or revisiting) psychotherapy.

I believe psychotherapy can be a life-changing practice -- and that positive, productive treatment begins with a safe, trusting, confidential, compassionate, and empathic client/therapist alliance.

My approach is based in psychodynamic psychotherapy. This means that I enjoy understanding and resolving your concerns not only in the present moment, but also with attention to their origin and your future health and happiness. To do this, I integrate numerous modalities, including CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), relational therapy, object relations, Jungian analysis, and Vedic psychology, as is relevant and helpful to you. In short, I will follow your lead and preference about what approaches you find most satisfying and helpful.

More Info About My Practice

INSURANCE: I am not currently accepting insurance. If, however, you have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to submit my invoices to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Please contact the "member services" department of your insurance carrier for more information. Additionally, sometimes sessions can be reimbursed using an employer-based Flexible Spending Account.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

* Creative Populations -- Empathic treatment for issues surrounding creative blocks, nonlinear career trajectories, public versus private personae, and balancing emotional and creative availability to your projects without compromising your health or self.

* Meditators -- Specialized services for practicing meditators, people interested in meditation, and anyone experiencing meditation-related concerns.

* End-of-Life Themes -- Compassionate attention to the needs of people grieving losses (including pregnancy loss), and/or navigating the dying process, either personally or on behalf of beloved family/friends.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

I am passionate about the personal growth made possible by our alliance and your psychotherapy -- which means I am also fully committed to helping you complete your treatment (I am not a therapist who will try to prolong your sessions unnecessarily).

I believe the most attentive and effective psychotherapy involves weekly sessions, in part so we spend less of our time recounting recent events and more time exploring their impact. I also believe weekly sessions strengthen our relationship and reduce your self-consciousness. Double sessions (90 minutes) and twice-weekly sessions are also available, if we believe more frequent attention would be helpful either in the short-term or long-term. In cases of long-term treatment (or treatment that has ended), I will also consider irregular sessions and/or "tune-ups".

In essence, we will tailor your treatment to the schedule and approach that feels safest and most productive to you.

I look forward to hearing from you!
