The Hellenic Therapy Center is committed to working with families, individuals, and couples using a family systems approach. We often include family members in therapy session because that which affects one person frequently affects the entire family system. We begin treatment with the individual and with their permission, may include other family members. The learning occurs in each family member's efforts to become familiar with the emotional system of family, work, and community and to manage self differently within it. We specialize in couples therapy and have a very unique approach in that we treat the couple together however, if necessary will also work with the couple individually. Our family systems theory has proven to be very effective. We maintain confidentiality at all times. We also specialize in women's self esteem issues, couples, adolescents, children. We are members of the National Council of Self Esteem and facilitate weekly groups. You can visit our website for more information.

More Info About My Practice

Couples Therapy/Marriage Counseling: Couples and marriage therapy focuses on the disagreements and conflicts between romantic partners. The difference between a happy and unhappy marriage is often the ability to resolve and discuss differences in a positive fashion that respects the needs of both parties. Damaging communication strategies are common, and include put-downs and name-calling, dragging old hurts into a current disagreement, defensiveness, infidelity, lack of intimacy, and controlling behavior.

We work with both members of the couple together, and we sometimes see members of couples individually. Marriage counseling can help the couple improve communication, resolve conflicts, navigate differences, develop empathy, listen better, and improve problem-solving skills.
