Based on trust, respect, and non-judgment my clients find safe ways to explore and express feelings and actions that would overwhelm friends and family. The work is not always easy, but it can liberate, enlighten, and inspire.
I work with all ages, with an emphasis on children and young adults.

In my work, I am informed by my Jungian-based depth psychological training. I am also informed by a lifetime of working with children and young adults as a teacher, father, and novelist. I often take a family-systems approach to children, working on family dynamics while never betraying the confidentiality of my clients.

More Info About My Practice

I have a sliding scale: $80 to $100 per session (which last an hour). The first, introductory session is free--to allow potential clients to decide if I am the therapist for them, and to allow me to decide if I can help prospective clients or not. I do not take insurance.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

As a therapist, I don't "fix" people (especially children brought to me by parents, schools, or the juvenile justice system). Instead, I help clients discover themselves and then use this self-knowledge in healthy ways to navigate the interior and exterior worlds in which they live. Being conscious (rather than reactive and unconscious) is the first step toward acceptance of self and then transcendence of whatever is causing suffering or conflict in life.
