With over 22 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to helping couples and individuals create healthy, loving and lasting relationships in their lives. I am certified in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), a scientifically proven method of helping people to reduce distress and improve closeness and vitality in their relationships. With a nonjudgmental stance and an emphasis on emotional safety, I help people to see how they get stuck or blocked in their life and then actively guide them to reach their goals.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
It is an honor and a privilege to work with people to improve their relationship life. It's often not easy to take the first step to call and then come see a psychotherapist. It never fails to inspire me to see people willing to be courageous and to create a strong intention to improve their life. Seeing people succeed in making their relationships flourish and bloom - whether it is with their spouse, their kids or their relationship with themselves -- gives me great satisfaction. It also challenges me to work hard and be honest in my own relationships. How can I expect people to put their trust in me if I can't 'walk the talk?'
Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed
Successful people know the value of hiring consultants and coaches to assist them in reaching their goals. In fact, CEO's of companies and top flight athletes often hire teams of people to help them achieve peak performance. These people see outside support as a strength and not a weakness. In matters of life, love and relationships it is the same. Our culture often does not support or offer healthy role models of what a healthy relationship is. Instead of seeing people as being weak or flawed, I see people get stuck in negative patterns of behavior which they are not fully aware of. If you are 'on the playing field' it is harder to see the bigger picture. The goal then is to help people see these stuck patterns which don't serve them and then guide them to new and positive ways of behaving and interacting. It is clear to me that people who reach out for guidance and support are coming from a position of strength and courage rather than a perceived weakness or flaw.
