My Approach to Helping

In my practice, I help you to live the life that you want. We will uncover the things that are keeping you from being as happy and fulfilled as you would like to be. With an integration of many different treatment orientations, I implement the techniques that are the most effective for your particular needs. My mission is to empower and educate you so that eventually, you can be your own therapist.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have helped many clients experiencing anxiety and panic attacks learn to manage their symptoms on their own. Anxiety and panic are extremely uncomfortable and can be debilitating. I use mindfulness and the mind-body connection in a results oriented approach to empower my clients to take back their lives.

I also love working with relationship issues. We are social beings and we have so many different relationships in our lives. Family, partners, children, parents, friends, ourselves, work, food, our bodies, money, and the list goes on. Learning how to listen to our intuition, how to set boundaries, and how to communicate better increases our sense of wellbeing and fulfillment in our lives. When we learn how to take really good care of ourselves we can show up the way we want to in all of our different relationships.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

If you are reading this profile, part of you wants something to change. I imagine there is another part of you that doesn't want to change. The part that doesn't want to change can show up in many different ways. It can be about money, feeling like therapy is too expensive. It could be time, thoughts like, "I don't want to be in therapy forever". We might think that we should be able to "do it on our own". These are forms of resistance. It's totally normal and I've never met anyone who didn't have at least a little of it. I believe that psychotherapy is one of the best investments anyone can make in themselves. The changes that occur are with you every second of every day. It is totally worth it. Worth the money, worth the time, and worth the effort.
