I am an experienced clinical social worker, with nearly two decades of work in private practice. Being in service is an essential way for me to experience meaning and connection, and I am honored to be able to do the work I do. My mode of practice is psychodynamic with eclectic influences including integrating eastern and western thought, mindfulness, compassion, and meaning.

My personal style with clients is warm, clear, and straightforward. I consider therapy to be a partnership between the therapist and the client. I don't assume I know more about you than you do, and at the same time I'm comfortable sharing my view and ideas to see if they fit for you. My goal is to provide a safe space for you to gain insight, to create mindfulness and calm in your life, to build coping skills, and to make practical, manageable changes as needed.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

I believe psychotherapy can change our brains, improve our lives, strengthen our relationships, and heal our hearts. Psychotherapy should leave people feeling more comfortable in their own skins, and more balanced in terms of taking action when needed and accepting things as they are. Ideally, psychotherapy helps to build specific coping skills, as well as general insight and self-awareness, and awareness of others. Discovering meaning and integrating physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual function fall within this work as well.
