Acceptance. Safety. Experienced. Compassionate. Supportive. Informal. These are the words that best describe my practice and my approach. My goal is to provide a space that is comfortable to every client. I want to help you find solutions to the challenges that bring you to therapy, and will engage you in an active therapy process. I am the kind of therapist who will ask you lots of questions, offer ideas, solutions, provide education about issues facing you, offer you resources to further your journey including books, articles, and suggestions for activities on your own. Your path to health is different from every other persons and yet often very much the same. We will work together to find the right approach to your challenges, and I will offer you unconditional support and a completely nonjudgmental environment to explore in. My experience includes working with adopted children and their families, as well as with children in the foster care systems; child and adult survivors of abuse and neglect, young women dealing with anxiety, depression, and eating disorders, men facing childhood abuse for the first time, and adults in abusive, unsatisfying relationships. Many times clients come to me not identifying their childhoods as abusive or traumatic only to realize that what they thought was 'normal' was actual abuse. The core beliefs you develop about yourself from your childhood is what drives you throughout your life to make choices and decisions that affect your future happiness and health. When you come to my office, we will unpack your backpack of all of the things that helped to develop that core belief. If it is a negative belief, we will work together using art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and EMDR to change that core belief to a positive one. Life looks very different when your core belief is positive. Anxiety goes away, depression lifts, and PTSD symptoms fade to black once your core belief is positive. Let's start that journey together.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Just like when you take your car to a mechanic, you can have a great experience, or a terrible one. If you have had a bad experience in the past with a therapist, or if you made no progress previously, give therapy with me a try before you give up. You might be surprised at how different it is in my office!
