My approach to helping through the therapeutic process is three-fold: Firstly, I believe in the potential for healing through a genuine relationship between therapist and client. This translates into a focus on the present moment. What are we experiencing right now? The here-and-now offers insights into how we live our lives, how we experience relationships, and what we believe about ourselves, and is therefore a goldmine for personal insight and healing.

Secondly, I am deeply committed to the influence of Critical-Social theory over my work as a therapist. All of us are born into a hierarchical system of power which breeds classism, sexism, racism, sizeism, ageism, etc. I believe that the stress of existing in such a system shows up, consciously and unconsciously, in ways which are isolating and disempowering. What might it mean to pull back the veil of this system and perhaps chose to live our lives in awareness instead of fear?

Lastly, it's my personal conviction that good psychotherapeutic work also includes an intentional awareness of and locatedness in the body. Our bodies often hold the stories, experiences, and knowledge that our minds cannot consciously bear. I use guided meditation & mindfulness, essential oils, and other body-centered tools to help foster a renewed relationship with the body.
