More Info About My Practice

Pain and suffering are part of life and can't be avoided. Sometimes life's challenges turn into profound learning opportunities, and you are shown that you are stronger than you thought. At other times, if you don't work to heal painful experiences, they can stay with you and make your life much more difficult.

If you are like most of my clients who seek therapy, you may feel dissatisfied, discouraged, or even hopeless about your life right now. However, there is something inside you that is pushing you to reach out for help in order to end your pain.

The good news is that this desire to achieve greater happiness and fulfillment is the first step toward achieving it. My goal as a therapist is to help you face challenges more effectively and ultimately, even grow from the difficulties you're facing so that you can embrace who you are and live your life to its fullest.

You may have doubts that this is possible, but the truth is that it's always possible, regardless of how much you are suffering.

My style is collaborative. You and I work together to decide on a plan to help overcome your problems and then reassess as we go to make sure you feel good about your progress and the approach we're using. I have training and experience in a number of evidence-based approaches to therapy and I usually combine several of them so that you will receive therapy that is specifically tailored to your needs.

• Trauma: Trauma comes in many forms, and traumatic events are not always life-threatening or dramatic. Losses of all kinds, including the transition to a new job or school or facing a bad relationship, can be traumatic. I specialize in trauma work because I like helping people move forward so the past does not control them. I use EMDR and other treatment modalities to help my clients safely overcome trauma without feeling re-traumatized.
• Anxiety: Anxiety is one of the most common reasons people seek therapy. It not only affects your physical and mental health, but also your relationships, family life, and career. I specialize in anxiety because I like helping my clients reduce their anxiety and fear, increase joy and happiness, and find joy in their lives.
• Young Adults: The transition to adulthood can be extremely difficult and confusing. It might seem like all your friends know exactly what they're doing and you're the only one who's struggling, but you'd be surprised at how many people feel lost, stuck or confused during this time of their lives.
