Billing and Insurance
I don't currently accept insurance, but I can provide documentation if clients wish to submit to an insurance company for "out of network" benefit coverage
Fees: The fee for my counseling services is $150 per hour. I also have a fee range of $125 to $150 for reduced fee clients, as discussed in more detail at my website. I also discuss possible insurance coverage and using Health Savings Accounts to pay for your therapy. Cost may be an important factor for you in choosing a counselor, particularly if you are paying out of your own pocket. I encourage you to ask me questions or bring up any concerns you have about the cost of counseling. It is important that you do not cause yourself undue financial stress by paying for counseling, and also that you feel you are receiving value for your investment.

Are you looking for a therapist who will collaborate with you to get to the root of your problems once and for all? Even highly motivated, smart people have a hard time making things better if they don't have the right tools and understanding of where their problems truly lie. The deepest levels of change happen below our cognitive thoughts, in our bodies and nervous systems. Without addressing these aspects of your "body/mind being" you'll learn to intellectually understand your problems, but won't be able to relax into your body and flow forward in your life.
Call me so we can talk about where you are on your healing journey and whether the holistic, somatic approaches I use (like Somatic Experiencing TM) can guide you to where you want to go. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation at (860)313-0039.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process of helping people to grow, heal, and address specific life problems. I bring my experience and skills as a therapist and a human being to the relationship, while you are the expert on your lifetime of experiences, thoughts and feelings. Overall, the purpose of this collaboration is for you to lead a more authentic, satisfying and joyful life.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love many things about being a therapist, but perhaps most of all are the moments when a new awareness and body state arises in the client. Their body relaxes, their eyes light up (perhaps with tears or perhaps with excitement) and suddenly things make sense to them in a new way. I know in that moment that their life will change for the better, and the work has been worth it.
