Most people I encounter want to live more conscious, meaningful lives and strive for a better sense of well-being. It's easy to hit some obstacles during these efforts. Being able to process issues with a caring, non-judgmental professional can help. I have a strong belief in the human spirit, and that individuals inherently possess the ability to make very powerful changes in their lives. I help to provide effective tools for transforming negative self-talk into a more motivating and inspiring internal process. I gently challenge habitual emotional reactions that tend to hijack a person's ability to think clearly. Once a person is able to manage these struggles a bit better, he or she is able to achieve enhanced emotional control and make optimal choices toward personal growth and well-being.

I have 18 years of experience providing results-oriented professional counseling, coaching and consultation to individuals, couples, families and organizations. Extensive experience in providing treatment for depression, anxiety, grief and loss, low self-esteem, acute stress, life transition stress, physical abuse recovery, sexual abuse recovery, communication problems and couples conflicts. I provide quality psycho-education to individuals, couples and organizations on Stress Management, Kaizen and Relaxation Techniques. I am an advocate for personal growth, holistic health and wellness. My work is most influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Positive Psychology and John & Julie Gottman's approach to couples counseling. However, I realize that each person has different needs in therapy. I bring emotional depth to my work regardless of short-term or long-term treatment needs.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

It’s not always easy to take that initial step to see a therapist. Most people put pressure on themselves to manage their struggles on their own or to just "get over it." Our families, friends, co-workers, and society in general often tend to reinforce these beliefs. The truth is that most people benefit from talking to a caring, non-judgmental person to sort things out. Our families and friends may be too close to us to not get overly involved or violate boundaries. They want you to feel better so they can feel better! This is understandable, since people close to us aren't looking at us from an objective stance. They may care about you, but they also may not know how to truly help. Our support systems are very important and useful. However, talking to someone with a trained ear, an open stance, and professional and ethical boundaries makes more sense. Especially when you are really trying to heal from past wounds and begin to make important changes in your life. Making an investment in yourself can make all the difference toward reaching your true and deserved potential.
