More Info About My Practice
We use a Mindful wholistic approach including healthier eating, exercise, stress reduction, sleep hygiene, emotional management & meditation as effective skills to guide patients to healthier lifestyles, happier families and more productive school, work & play. Also being disabled with pain control issues I am able to help others who are also disabled.
We accept Tricare and most BCBS working hard to make therapy affordable. Pet Therapy gives a unique twist to therapy. Patients are seen Sunday through Wednesday starting at 11 am. Mondays & Wednesdays have appointments until 10 pm to accommodate most people's work and school schedules. Calls are allowed until midnight. The therapy room is a tropical garden with plants, fountains, music and a place to see hawks, wood peckers, deer, fox, geese and sunsets. There is also the fun of saying "squirrel" to get the dogs to go squirrely.
My Therapy Focus
The focus is on the present offering skills & alternatives to succeed in a world that is becoming overwhelming. This includes work, home & play. How to learn or re-learn healthier lifestyles & to apply these learnings to everyday life. To make better decisions, negotiate, contract, set goals, build self-esteem, self-confidence, watch people learn to smile again & learn that no mountain is too high to climb.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I hope to write a book called, Surviving the Murphy's Law Curse, a story of my own life. Due to my own negative and positive experiences I am able to empathize and facilitate more easily with patients and guide them through their journey wherever it leads. I am disabled and can offer a strong motivational model to help others face their fears and change.
