My Approach to Helping

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I firmly believe that each person is unique with a distinct story which is impacted by various circumstances and people in their own lives.

I work with adults on an individual level or in couple relationships, and also with adolescents with an array of concerns such as trauma, attachment, depression, anxiety, and issues of grief and loss, as well as concerns around life transitions, problematic relationships, and an inability to focus which hinders one's capacity to be happy and content.

I am an African-American person of color and appreciate and value difference. I am trained extensively in cultural diversity and work efficiently with racial, gender and sexual identity, and "alternative" lifestyles.

More Info About My Practice

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Healing Shame Therapy when working with individuals and couples. The EFT evidence based theoretical model has proven to be effective in helping individuals and couples achieve the type of loving relationships that they desire. As an attachment therapist (please see website for further information), I help people understand themselves at a deeper level to enhance their ability to make better choices and find their way to a more fulfilling life.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I work efficiently with racial, gender and sexual identity, and "alternative" lifestyles. I am skilled at working with shame which can be a debilitating emotion that inhibits one's ability to feel good about themselves.
