I work with each client to establish a strong therapeutic alliance. This creates a climate of trust and safety where my clients can work to better understand their worlds and their experiences. I believe the clients' needs should control the goals of therapy. I endeavor to offer assistance to my clients as they initiate transformations, develop resilience, and foster hope.
I offer a judgment-free, collaborative approach to counseling, and I value the role of the therapeutic relationship. I've experienced seemingly insurmountable challenges and obstacles in my own life. Relationships with other people who believed in me and nurtured a sense of hope helped me heal. I want to offer the same supportive guidance to my clients.

More Info About My Practice
My cost per session ranges between $50 and $90 per session depending on household income. I do not deal directly with insurance, however I will offer an invoice you can submit to your insurance company. Although there is no guarantee an insurance company will offer compensation, many clients do receive payment for their sessions this way.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
I believe in healing and transformation! Therapy provides a relational home to explore, organize, and share our emotional experiences. Our life experiences can leave us feeling uncertain about our sense of self and others. Although I offer tools to manage our powerful emotional and relational experiences, I believe in healing and transforming our hearts so that we can begin to find hope and experience peace.
My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'
I do not see our defenses as 'good' or 'bad'. Anger, anxiety, depression, fear; all of our emotional experiences are a result of trying to survive in a relational world that teaches us that dangers do exist, that we can be hurt, that others can be hurtful. I believe that we need our defenses (I do not want to take away our fear of bears because then we might get eaten), yet I also believe that when our defenses begin to get in the way of our growth and happiness, then we can then learn new ways to feel, act, believe, and experience the world.
