I am a clinical psychologist specializing in anxiety and stress. My clients are typically highly motivated, achievement-oriented professionals who see anxiety and depression as holding them back in their work and personal lives. My clients face a range of challenges, including workplace issues, relationship problems, and difficult life transitions. Some of them have more severe clinical anxiety disorders. In all cases, I use evidence-therapeutic approaches that work, such as CBT. And, I try to bring warmth, authenticity, and a sense of humor into the therapy room. I love seeing my clients exceed their own expectations.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am particularly skilled in helping people with both clinical anxiety disorders (panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and social phobia), and more moderate anxiety issues, such as those related to the workplace and relationships. My particular area of specialty is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which has strong research support for the treatment of anxiety.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love seeing people grow and succeed in ways that they did not think possible. I am amazed at the courage and work ethic my clients display. I have learned a lot from them.

My Therapy Focus

It depends on the client, and the particular issue at hand. In general, though, I initially help clients clarify their values and set goals. I then help clients understand the beliefs and behaviors that are causing them to feel unhappy and behave in ways that are counterproductive to their goals. And I help clients in the process of changing their thoughts and behaviors. I have a very goal-focused approach; I want my clients to be able to define and measure proress toward goals of their choosing.
