Jill Ahrens Tucker, LPC-S, is a licensed professional counselor, as well as a board-approved supervisor for LPC interns. She offers group, individual, and family counseling to young adults, adolescents, and their families.
Jill incorporates experiential activities into her group and individual sessions with adolescents and young adults. From 2009 to 2015, she worked for The Council on Alcohol and Drugs, serving first as the Choices counselor, and then as a program manager overseeing Choices counselors. Choices is a comprehensive education, counseling, and prevention program that reduces 15 high-risk behaviors among teens in local high schools. In addition to her work managing Choices, Hill also served a facilitator for the Council's high risk behavior class and adolescent process group.
Jill is currently in the Teacher Empowerment Program with Big Power Yoga Houston. In January, she will be 200 RYT.
Jill and Jessica Pass, LMFT-S, have collaborated to create TruthTribe, yoga and group therapy experience for adolescent girls searching for community, purpose, and wholehearted living. TruthTribe empowers young women to know who they are, to say what they need to say, and own her unique offerings to the world.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

I believe therapy can be helpful in a multitude of ways, but most important to me is to provide a safe, confidential space for my clients. In life, most of us have people who will listen, give advice, and help us problem solve or tell us what to do. Therapy is not necessarily that. Therapy is a way to have a mirror held up in front of you face to allow you to take a good look at yourself in a supportive environment, with honest, compassionate feedback that allows for whatever feelings come up. Therapy is a place to find self-acceptance, healing, and happiness.
