I believe that everyone has the capacity for change and has within them everything they need to do so. I begin the therapeutic process by gaining a thorough understanding of who you are and your situation. I will work collaboratively with you, developing treatment goals and interventions that are unique to your specific needs and situation. I am an eclectic therapist, using a variety of therapies and interventions to best address your needs and goals. I believe that everyone has strengths unique to them. I will help you to identify and increase the use of your strengths to promote change. I really enjoy working with children, teens, and families.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as therapist is to ensure you have a safe and comfortable place to share your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. I take an active role during sessions, providing comments and feedback to develop insight and awareness. I also provide psychoeducation and additional information that I feel will increase your knowledge and understanding regarding your current issues. I also welcome feedback from you regarding your thoughts and feelings about the effectiveness of the current interventions and therapies being used to help you reach yourr goals.

My Therapy Focus

The most important focus of the therapy work is to develop a supportive working relationship, in order for you to feel safe and comfortable throughout our time together. My focus in each session is to help you develop insight and awareness about yourself and those around you. I also focus on helping you develop the necessary skills to bring about change, such as changing one's thinking, communication skills, relaxation skills, etc. I believe that our physical health and emotional health are interconnected and will focus on helping you develop healthy habits to promote good physical and emotional health.
