I offer a nonjudgmental, safe, and supportive environment for individuals who often feel labeled, judged, or marginalized in society. I am passionate about working with individuals who are on the fringes of society and who are often given labels such as: weird, strange, different, awkward, or unusual. These individuals are often misunderstood and criticized for their individuality, which can be an isolating, lonely, and painful experience.

I work with these individuals to embrace their unique qualities and individuality. I help individuals learn and develop their strengths, authenticity, creativity, and innate wisdom. My approach is to help people see their potential, recognize and embrace their strengths and uniqueness, and change patterns that are no longer working for them.

Everyone has different motivations and life experiences for seeking therapy. Making that first call or e-mail can be difficult and scary but it is also an act of courage and self-care.

More Info About My Practice

I often work with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and family / relationship issues. I am LGBTQ+ affirmative, kink and nontraditional relationship friendly. I am passionate about working with geeks, nerds, introverts, creatives, millennials, and other "misfits" out there who are struggling to understand and embrace themselves.

I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to briefly discuss your concerns and collaboratively decide if we might be a good fit in working together. I do offer a sliding fee on a limited basis. Please contact me to discuss this further. I look forward to being your therapist and creating a meaningful relationship to help you through your unique journey in life.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

I have heard this quite a bit from individuals. They made that courageous leap and started to see a therapist. But for some reason, the experience was very negative for them. They either felt judged or misunderstood. Either way, it caused the person to discontinue therapy. Not every therapist is the right fit for you, and that is okay. I hope that you are open to giving therapy another chance but with someone who can better understand you or fit well with your needs. Sometimes it does take time to find the right fit, and that can be frustrating. But once you do find the right fit and you see the change and positive growth you can receive from the process, it will be worth it. You deserve to take care of yourself and to find the right individual who will respect, honor and provide a nonjudgmental environment to your growth.
