Now accepting new clients for Saturday appointments in Mountlake Terrace!

I enjoy working with adults who are struggling with life transitions, anxiety, depression, and stress. I also have a unique specialty in working with family members of those with mental health challenges.

I work in a collaborative, pragmatic way. I give you space to talk about and process your experiences, while also teaching skills for you to use in your everyday life. I have seen that the people I work with meet their goals faster when they are practicing the things they learn outside our meetings. After all, our sessions are only one hour of your week! For example, if you are struggling with unwinding and relaxing during your free time, I might teach you a meditation or breathing exercise. You will practice this activity a few times a week and notice you are finally able to relax! My work is inspired by cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and acceptance and commitment therapy.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I feel honored to provide psychotherapy. I have always been drawn to helping others and I find the human mind endlessly amazing and fascinating. Everyday I am inspired by the strength and bravery of the people who enter my office. I have a job where I work with fascinating people and where I'm never bored.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Although therapy has become more mainstream in recent years, there is still some negative associates and stigma around reaching out for mental health support. Sometimes people feel they must be weak to need help or that something must be really wrong with them. In my experience, this is not the case at all. We all have times in our lives where we would benefit from support from someone who is not our family member or friend. Life is hard and we all struggle at times. Searching out therapy takes strength, bravery, and a commitment to living your life to its fullest.
