The lens through which we see the world guides us as we plot our life course. This perspective influences how we manage our stressors and concerns. These stressors do not only influence our mood; they can significantly impact our health, work and intimate relationships. In my practice, I assist people in overcoming these struggles in order to appropriately adapt to the changing world.
We will clearly define your vision of successful life functioning. This will provide the framework for you to master current and future challenges. Rather than prescribing behaviors, we will practice conveying the principles of effective engagement in your daily life and your interactions with others. My mission is to help teens, adults and couples develop insight into their concerns so they can make the best decisions for themselves and better navigate their relationships.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Over the past 10 years, I have provided therapeutic treatment to people coping with anxiety, depression, stress related to life transitions, chronic health issues, sexuality and relationships.
My practice is centered in sexual health, sexual functioning and intimate relationships.
I assist teens and adults in sexual trauma recovery and improving relationships impacted by past sexual abuse.
I work with individuals struggling with identity concerns and transitions. I have provided support to LGBTQ teens and adults working through the "coming out" process and how to develop healthy relationships. I also take care to support LGBTQ people of color as they integrate their identity with their role in their family and community.
I treat couples coping with intimacy issues as related to chronic or major illnesses. I also specialize in the treatment of intimacy and sexuality concerns of HIV sero-discordant and sero-concordant couples.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Effective health management includes addressing the health of the mind. Therapy is a means of treatment for mental health concerns, as they play a vital role on how the body functions. A therapist will help you understand the origin of emotional and behavioral concerns and the subsequent impact on one's physical and interpersonal health. Therapy will help you develop ways to resolve these concerns so you can live and relate to others at an optimal level.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Do you feel like you have no one to talk to?
Are you concerned that you will be judged on your thoughts or fears?
Therapy can feel like a scary process. Sharing one’s thoughts, feelings with a new person may not feel “normal”. It can be helpful to have a person outside of our personal life to help us evaluate our experiences so we may better navigate our life. Therapy is a chance to collaborate with someone who can assist in coping with life's stresses.
