The decision to enter counseling is a courageous one. Making that initial call is the first step in one's journey for insight and self-growth. There is not one individual therapeutic approach that will treat all the disorders. Your treatment plan should be specialized to your own individual needs and a collaborative relationship with your therapist is essential to your success. Feeling comfortable, respected, and validated are ways that will facilitate and empower you to be successful. Within our office you will be treated as that individual and provided with a confidential and safe environment so you can begin that journey. I feel there are many providers that are available to treat you and the fact that you are trusting me with your emotional well-being is a privilege.

Being prior military as well as a military spouse, I understand the unique challenges that the military family deals with. I have been trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR Level I and II and have worked in a domestic violence shelter and as the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator for the Army.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy not only gives you a safe and confidential atmosphere to explore and address life's stressors, but it challenges the individual and empowers them to make these changes. Life can be stressful and sometimes this stress can interfere and prevent one from achieving their personal goals. Psychotherapy also teaches clients new tools and interventions to cope with those difficult transitions focusing on the individual's strength and resources that will help them be successful.
