My Therapy Focus

My focus in therapy is to guide clients to experience greater purpose and meaning in life. I believe therapeutic relationships are a powerful tool for change. Rather than offer advice which often minimizes feelings; I encourage clients in their ability to make their own decisions toward progression and accomplishment of goals.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

I believe each individual has inherent significance and dignity that comes from God. Because of this, I see the value in each client regardless of whatever issue brings them to counseling. This is a foundation for my counseling philosophy. Since I view the dignity of each client, my desire is to uphold ethical standards that model a safe environment for the individual while in counseling.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

I believe change occurs within the context of relationship. Therefore, it is vital to choose a therapist wisely. I encourage people to ask several questions and research the therapist prior to making a decision. It is also important to choose someone you feel comfortable with and can connect with on a therapeutic level.
